FAQ – Pipefitters' Training Fund

1. What are the hours of the Training Center?
When apprentice classes are in session, the facility is open from 7:00am to 8:00pm. Monday through Thursday, and 7:00am to 5:00pm on Friday and 7:00am to 3:30pm on Saturday. All other times the facility is open from 7:00 am to 3:30pm. If you have questions as to these times please call. (708) 326-9240
2. How do I get a DOL certification for an apprentice?
Contact Matthew Majszak at the Training Center. Please send your information, the name of the apprentice(s) needing certs, and the Contractor Name, Address, City, State, and Zip. Certs are valid for 90 days, and usually take two business days to receive. All certifications are sent via e-mail as a secured pdf file. Adobe will be required to read & print.
3. I would like to register for a class, who do I contact?
Registration instructions can be found here. You can call the school between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm or e-mail the training center at training@pftf597.org.

1. How can I apply for the apprenticeship?
Applications are available by registration only. Please see the application tab for more information.

1. Who can attend night courses?
Any member paying into the Training Fund. Union dues must be up to date.
2. What time do night classes start?
Most Journeyperson classes run from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Please see class lists for specific times.

1. How can I check on my certifications?
First, go to your dashboard, your certifications, and days remaining before expiration are located within. All certifications are currently under your “welding” tab. http://pf597.unionfusion.net
2. I have checked my certifications online. They are about to expire, what should I do?
Contact the Training Center to verify that they are about to expire and that your contractor is not going to update your continuity. At that time you will be told to print off a continuity update sheet for your contractor to sign or to come to the Training Center to update.
3. I am a Journeyperson, and I want to take a UA test, how do I go about this?
