Industrial Rigging Certification Course

Objective: This class will offer a student an opportunity to gain a better working knowledge and understanding of industrial rigging.  A student will learn the many aspects of industrial rigging including rigging safety, sling angles and loads, shackle requirements and sizing, crane requirements, calculating loads, coefficients of friction, calculating pipe weights and other math formulae required to perform safe hoisting.

 

Requirements:  Previous experience and knowledge of rigging.  Students are required to bring a hardhat, pocket level, calculator, notebook, highlighter(s), pen(s) and/or pencil(s) to each class.  Standard work clothing is required along with work gloves.  Safety glasses will be provided.

 

Course Schedule:  This five week course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00p.m.-9:00p.m.  A student must attend all 40 hours of class; pass a practical rigging test and a final written examination to obtain the UA Industrial Rigging Certification.
